Suburban Ways: Episode 39
Martha plans for the engagement with Max’s help. Jiten gets a call from his wife.
Scene: The Robinson’s
“Caterer?” Martha Robinson is on the phone quite agitated sorting out food for her brother’s engagement and not very happy with her co-worker who happens to be Carly. “Damn it Carly!” Max Burns leans against the door in his robe. Martha looks at him and rolls her eyes. She hangs up. “Damn, damn!” Max walks into the kitchen, goes for the coffee, and brushes against Martha. “Problem?”
“Nothing that I cannot handle” she replies. “God can’t you put some clothes on!”
“If you want catering I can get you someone immediately,” he says as he hands her a cup of coffee. She takes it and smiles. “Really you got a caterer?” he nods as he drinks.
“Look we are practically family and plus you’re doing it at the club aren’t you” he said.
“Yes we are” says Martha. “I just don’t know why Carly and I are organising it” she says with a sigh.
“To keep you out of trouble if my mind is précised,” he laughs. Carly gives him a look. “You go to get me that caterer!” Max smiles. “As soon as I put some clothes on. He opens his robe, which shows his bare chest. Martha rolls her eyes as he passes by her. Martha pushes him away.

“Overseas calls” Jiten says angrily. “Maya!” Maya walks into the office, as she puts on her satchel ready for school. “What granddad!”
“Tell me about this” as he holds the phone bill in the air. “Well young lady, all these calls are from overseas” he snaps.
“I have to talk to grandma you know” she says.
“But you have to tell me when you are calling her this is a lot of money Maya!”
“I pay you back I work at the café,” she says.
“You better straight after school for an hour!” She turns to the door. “Maya!” Maya turns around. “Is she okay?” She nods and leaves the room. Niri walks into the office. “What was all that about dad?”
“Your daughter making calls back home to mum” he says.
“She is really missing her,” Niri cries. “Dad it’s not the same you know. It is difficult here” crying into his arms.
