EPISODE 47 OF SUBURBAN WAYS
Christmas is building up in Suburban Ways and will it be fun-filled festivities? Max receives a present and the Palmer 's hold a family meeting.
Scene: The Inn
“Can you believe that this is the time of year again hey” called out Carly as she prepared the tree with Arthur’s niece Ronnie Mitchell. Steve Palmer could not believe that this is the woman who he worked with at Sea Crest Hotel. Although for a short while, Steve thought that Ronnie was a wild child but somehow something has changed. “So how is everyone at Sea Crest? How’s Amanda?”
“Amanda’s gone in for management Margaret’s right hand woman, from secretary to professional,” she said. Steve wiped the tabletops down as Carly and Ronnie began hanging the decorations. “Now that’s what I call a tree” called Arthur.
“Any news on my wayward brother?” He shook his head.
“I thought he be coming home for Christmas” she thought. “Or maybe I should go there” she said.
“Let him work things out with Chrissy” said Arthur. “Plus we get to see you before we go on our cruise in the New Year” said Arthur with a smile. Ronnie felt a twitch in her stomach. “Excuse me” she said and left. Josie noticed her niece and followed her into the bathrooms. “Ronnie!” Ronnie shut the door in the cubicle.
“So you took my advice then,” said Josie.
“No” she said feeling sick.
“He has a right to know he is the father of your baby!” Ronnie flushed the toilet. She walked out and went over to the bathroom sink. “Because I have not told you the whole story!”
Scene: The Robinson’s
Jasmine smelt the liquor from the saucepan. “What do you think?” She said to her fiance, as he tasted the liquid from the spoon. He coughed. “Oh no it’s too much isn't it?” Ken wiped his mouth. “What on earth are you making?”
“I am making eggnog,” he laughed. “Then I thought I try and make some mince pies”” she twirled around. “I am in the festive spirit” they danced around the kitchen as Martha Robinson walked in.
“Oh want to join us Martha?”
“I rather be sick in my own vomit thanks very much,” she added.
“What’s wrong with you?” Ken said to his sister.
“Nothing” she left the room.
She passed her husband on the way into the corridor. “Come here” he said and he pulled her towards her and kissed her passionately. “Merry Christmas” as he held the mistletoe above her head.
Scene: The Inn
Suzanne and Jack Palmer walked in through the door of the Inn. The events earlier today had made them think long and hard and have both decided now is the time to tell the family. “Hey dad what do you think?” Carly pointed to the tree. Jack laughed. “Really?”
“She wouldn't listen to my ideas,” replied Ronnie as she sipped some water.
“Everyone we need to sit to down” said Jack.
“Dad what’s wrong?” Steve said.
“There is something your mother and I need to tell you” Ronnie got up.
“I better go,” she said.
“No your part of this family, this affects you to” he added. Ronnie sat down.
“What’s going on?” Added Josie.
Scene: The Club
Maxwell Burns began opening the club ready for a long nights work ahead. He switched on all the lights and looked at the emptiness around him. He then walked into the office and saw a pile of post. He thought that Martha or Mickey would have opened it. There was a parcel for him. He took a knife and slit down the middle. He opened the parcel and maggots came crawling out of it.
“What the –“ Adele Robinson walked into the office and saw the maggots crawling from the box and she screamed.
