Suburban Ways
EPISODE 49
Graham puts on a show for everyone as the Christmas lights are turned on in the square. Mickey makes a plea to Adele.
Scene: The Café
Gladys Badhman ushered her nephew Eddie to take out a few tables as Lizzie was bringing out the food. Her brother had decided to put on a show and switching on the lights for the festive season and a surprise visit from Mia Knight a singer who once lived around these parts. Joyce Robinson walked by with shopping bags. “What’s going on here?”
“Oh Joyce how good to see you, how are you?” Joyce looked anxious. “Graham has had the idea to work on this year’s lights and at five we will switch them on. He even got Mia Knight to come and do a few carols” Joyce looked angry.
“Cat got your tongue,” she added.
Joyce turned her head and bumped into Mickey. “Mickey can you believe this!”
“Believe what Joyce” she looked around.
“It’s Christmas” he said.
“No I meant Graham doing all this!” He looked around.
“Well if he has got the money let him” he said and walked off.
Scene: The Inn
Josie Mitchell was nodding away to Christmas music as she was serving the customers. Ronnie Mitchell was helping her aunt and trying to get over to what had happened the previous night. “Are you sure you should be doing any work like this” she said consoling her. “I have to get over this Aunt Josie. I have to forget that this ever happened and move on,” she said.
“just be careful won’t you” she carried on.
Jack Palmer walked in. “Hi Jack, any news on Carly and Steve?” He shook his head. “Not seen them at all,” he said. “I don’t blame them,” he said. Arthur Mitchell walked in. “Everyone the lights are going to come on” said Arthur excitedly. All went outside.
Mia Knight stood in front of the crowd. The crowd was waving as her father Alan stood at the side of the stage cheering her on. Graham stood on stage next to her. Joyce was in the crowds as she watched on with her family. “To welcome Mia Knight to open our Christmas lights and make this Christmas the best one yet!” He let Mia take the microphone. Graham walked down and walked over to Joyce. “What do you think?”
“Your up to something” she said.
Mickey Smith grabbed Adele from the crowd. “What on earth are you doing?”
“Making you shut your trap!”
She let go of him. “Don’t you dare say anything to the police about me do you get me or I shut that trap of yours!”
“I have no idea what my sister sees in you, your nothing but a pig, you hated the idea of Max coming into business and you decided to do one thing, send him that package to scare him didn't you!” Martha excitedly ran up. She grabbed Mickey’s hand. “Come on you two its starting” she said.
