Suburban Ways: Episode 84
The residents hear shocking news.
Scene: The Inn
“There that should do it,” said Arthur as he fitted in the barrel.
“They don’t make them like they used to,” replied Jack as he wiped his hands with the towel. “How are you doing?” Arthur said to Jack as he placed his arm on the bar.
“Well you know how it is,” said Jack.
“But sometimes, you need to know when you need to stop and take a good look and see what is most important” Arthur suggested.
There was a knock at the door. “Who can that be?” Arthur went over unlocked the door, it was Mickey Smtih.
“Mickey this is a bit early, what’s wrong?”
“Where’s Carly?”
“Upstairs” he rushed by them.
“Mickey!” The followed Mickey to the apartment. Carly, Steve, Joyce and Suzanne are having breakfast.
“Mickey what the-“Instantly, Carly knew. It was Martha. She began shaking her head.
Mickey went over to her. “No, no, no” she insisited. Tears began to roll down her face. “Nooooooooooo!”
Scene: The Badhman’s
“I just got off the phone with Margaret,” said Gladys.
“What is it?” Eddie and Lizzie looked at each other.
“Martha is dead,” she said solemnly. Graham stood overhearing at the top of the stairs.
Scene: The Club
Max and Hannah looked at each other silent. “I just heard from Ronnie,” said Max.
“What?”
“Martha’s died,” he said.
“Martha’s dead!”
Max nodded.
Hannah gasped. “What, when?”
“Yesterday” he sat down. Hannah walked over to him. “I know, I know she was with you and everything but this is most shocking,” she said.
“You’re so sincere,” he said to her.
“I never disliked her Max,” she said.
“But you sniped at her for most of time” he added.
“She was taunting me. But that’s not the point and now we know who killed her that cow, that adulterer who broke my parents’ marriage!”
Scene: The Robinson’s
Joyce cradled Martha’s teddy in her bedroom as she sat on the edge of the bed. Downstairs the rest of the Robinson’s were mourning.
