Episode 88
Eddie finds information concerning Chantal and Joyce begins preparing for Martha’s funeral.
Scene: The Robinson’s
“Let me make the coffee for you” said Jean as Joyce, Margaret, Terrance, Jackson, Ken, Jasmine, Adele, Mickey, Suzanne and Josie sit at the table. “I think we need to think about laying Martha to rest and was wondering if you all like to contribute,” she said. “I for one think that a nice horse and carriage would be beautiful going into the grounds of the church,” said Margaret.
“How about her favourite ‘Westlife’ song in the background” added Adele.
‘Mickey as you were her husband I think you should think about a poem” Joyce said. Jean begins handing out coffee and tea for everyone.
“Really, you think I want to stand in front of everyone and talk some soppy poem!” Mickey slams his fist onto the table.
“Easy Mickey” said Jackson.
“No I am not easy I am not going to be pushed into something I do not want to do” he shouted.
“No one is forcing you to do anything okay” said Margaret. “Not if you don’t want to” she looked at Joyce.
“Will come back to that,” she said. Mickey got up.
“I need some air,” he said.
Scene: The Badhman’s
“Aha!” Said Eddie Badhman coming down the stairs. Jocelyn was sitting down reading a magazine. “What is it?”
“I found this” said Eddie as he was all excited.
“Evidence, dad had been paying Chantal,” said Eddie.
“What do you mean, of course he has been paying Chantal as his employee,” Jocelyn continued reading.
“Mum, she was a prostitute,” he added. Jocelyn stopped.
“What!”
“Dad had been paying Chantal to sleep with him,” he said.
“Well I never, how on earth did you manage to find this out” she said clasping her hands.
“He found her and she knew something mum, something about dad” she put her hand up.
“Where did you find this out?”
“I looked into her files at the office. I mean I know it is not legal to do so, but I had to do something. She get every penny from dad.”
“Like brother like sister” she said smiling.
Scene: The Robinson’s
Mickey leant back against the wall, lit a cigarette and started to smoke.
“Since when did you begin to smoke?” Marc Harris peered his head round the corner.
“Got another?” Mickey handed him the pack.
“Times of stress and anger” he said.
“You must be quite angry to actually shout back at her,” said Marc.
“Well she’s not the easiest person to get along with” said Mickey.
“But she is only doing this so she can help you come to terms with what happened. in my experience I think you have to let you deal with your grief your own way” he said.
Jasmine headed to the door to bring Mickey back but she stopped when she overheard her brother talking to him. Adele walked by. Jasmine put her finger to her lips. She smiled as she overhears her brother giving Mickey a heart to heart.
“Find your own way to deal with it” he said. “I always find screaming from the top of my lungs helps,” he said. He patted him on the back, stamped out his cigarette, and walked off.
Jasmine caught her brother.
“Hey” she said. She cuddled him.
“Don’t you dare!” She smiled and continued to look at Mickey.
He began to scream. Ken overheard and went to see what was going on.
“No let him, this is his way of dealing with grief,” she said. They both looked on.
