Suburban Ways: Episode 10
Hannah is amazed when Cassandra tells her she is godmother. Max is convinced that Mickey is a fraud and sets his eyes on Martha.
Scene: The Club
“Where is Cody?” Hannah asked about Cassandra son. The club began to fill. “I left him with Ken” she replied back.
“How long are you going to keep up this pretence Cassandra?” said Hannah. Hannah looked at Cassandra handing her a drink. “Cassandra drank a bit of wine. “The reason why I am here is that I want you to be Cody’s godmother” Hannah was shocked. “You want me as Cody’s godmother? Are you serious?” Cassandra nodded. “I do want you, you know the truth about Cody and I want you there by my side” Hannah raised her eyebrows.
“Basically you want me in the mix when everything comes out!” Cassandra shook her head.
“No it’s not like that Hannah. Since knowing you, I have become more aware of your ideas and your values and why the things you do” Hannah smiled at Cass. “Well I know we had our differences but I don’t think that mother hen will see it like that” she said noting Joyce.
“You can leave mother hen to me and frankly she has no say on who becomes godmother” she said.
Scene: The Burns
Max walks through the door of his humble abode, his wife’s home. He puts down cases. “Dad!” Damien Burns looks from the top of the stairs and rushes down to see his father and hugs him. “Your back?”
“Looks like it I think your mother and I have some unfinished business” he said.
“Two shay” said a voice from behind. His wife stood there smiling at her estranged husband. “Damien I need to speak to your mom” he said. Damien nodded and walked back upstairs. “I am so glad you came back” she said to him, putting her arms around his neck. Max Burns to her hands off him. “This is how it’s going to be. We are going to lead separate lives. I came back for a reason and that reason he has gone upstairs.” Julia thrusts him back and went over to the sofa. “How can you be so ungrateful? You think you can swarm your way back in here and have everything you want?” Max leaned over the sofa and pressed his face alongside Julia’s cheek. “I always get what I want. What you did and what I did was wrong but I can never forgive you stitching me up in court!”
“A win, win situation” she said. “Someone had to go down; The Pierra Co-operation had you stitched up!”
“It was me!”
Scene: The Robinson’s
“No!” Shouted Joyce Robinson as she just heard the news that her grandson would be christened by her nemesis. “How dare you even consider her to become godparent?”
“I knew you would hate the idea but it was a decision made by both of us” said Cassandra.
“Actually Ken did not say that he wanted Hannah to be godmother” said Jasmine.
“Who asked you to join in the conversation?” said Cass wickedly.
“Hey this is not doing any of us any good. Look let’s consider someone else” said Ken reasonably. “I made a decision concerning our son!” She looked at Joyce. “You have no right to say what goes on in my upbringing of my son Joyce. I cut ties with you and your family a long time ago. The decision is final; Hannah will be godparent whether you like it or not!” Cassandra looked at Ken and walked out of the room. Ken followed Cass. “Why?”
“She has been a good friend. I know we had our differences but she has become more down to earth than you ever know” said Cass.
Scene the Club
Max Burns strolled into the club that lunch time. “Hello?” Martha Robinson came from the office. “Oh Max, what are you doing here?”
“Looking for Mickey, is he around?” She shook her head.
“I have no idea where he has gone” she said. She went behind the bar. “I can give him a message” said Martha helpfully.
“Ah that’s all right, although I do have a business proposition for him” he said.
"Well afterall this is my club and I can help you along in this business proposition" she said eagerly.
"Well how abput we discuss this over a drink" he said leaning over the bar.
"My thoughts exactly" she said smiling leaning into him.
