SUBURBAN WAYS: EPISODE 118
RONNIE MITCHELL MAKES A SURPRISE VISIT TO SUBURBAN WAYS AND ELIZA BURNS BEGINS TO BE SUSPICOUS.
SCENE: THE COUNCIL
Eliza Burns walked the corridors of the council and entered the lift and saw Mickey brushing aside her as he left. Eliza walked in and the doors closed, she took out her mobile phone and called for Hannah. “Darling that man from the manor, you know the one on Christmas Eve, is here in the building” the doors swung open and she walked to her office. “I thought you might want to know” she replied as she put her bag on her table. Adam stood by the door and smiled at his colleague. “Okay I got to go “she added.
“Adam” she beamed.
“You got a phone call from Jean Harris on the line and you got a meeting with the Education department”
“Thank you for your co-operation and who was that, that was hurrying the corridors?”
“Mickey Smith Mrs Burns” she nodded and Adam left.
Joyce furiously poured herself a drink from her cabinet behind the desk as her son Ken looked on. “Drinking won’t solve anything mum,” he begged, as he looked concerned.
“Did she call him, did Hannah call Mickey to come back!”
“Mum for all you know he could have changed,” he said as he twiddled his fingers.
“That man never changes,” she said flustered.
SCENE: Max’s Club
A car pulled up outside the club where Max and Hannah worked. A red haired woman stepped out of the car and locked it with a touch of a button. Ronnie Mitchell smelt the air and gasped for a drink. She headed straight for the bar.
Max was in midst conversation with Hannah. “Mum said that Mickey was in town and he is here to stay, what are you going to do!”
“I am going to do nothing Max, because I am with you and he is married to another woman. You think that I am going to jump right back into bed with him after what he put me through the last time!”
“Hello Max” called a voice from behind, both Hannah and Max turned to see Ronnie there arms folded as she smiled nervously.
SCENE: THE MANOR
Mickey stumbled through the door hanging his jacket on the peg and putting the keys in the pot a worried Ivy ran down the stairs and caught him by the arm. “Where were you, I was so worried. Dad has been going out of his mind” she called to him.
“I went to see my ex mother in law” he answered back.
“Why, I thought that was put behind. This was meant to be a fresh start” he cocked his head towards her “for both of us.”
Philip stood at the banister as he listened on his daughters conversation, Drew walked past. “What’s going on?”
“Do me a favour will you?” he said to son. Drew looked at Philip curiously.
“Make sure you keep a close eye on Mickey for me” Drew rolled his eyes at him.
“Just do it” he replied crossly. “Something is not right here,” he added.
“You are close to him as well, just see if he can tell you anything” he put his hand on his shoulder.
