Scene: The Café
Gladys’s was serving behind the bar. Lizzie and Eddie were there helping their aunt as customers were pouring in and out of the café. Sitting somewhere in the middle, Jasmine sat sipping a cup of coffee and reading a magazine. Mickey Smith walked into the café and saw Jasmine and he went over. Eddie was glaring in the background. “You got minders now I see,” said Jasmine as she noticed Eddie staring. “He is just being over protective of his sister,” said Mickey. “Something which I should have done to my own” he said. “You wanted to see me,” he said. Lizzie coughed from behind. “Sorry to interrupt, hi Mickey, was wondering if you would like something to drink you know Ice cold or something warm?”
“I wouldn’t mind another coffee, Mickey?”
“Late” he said. Lizzie smiled and walked off.
“It’s Martha, which is the reason why I asked you here. Believe me I did not know who to turn to. This election thing is going on still”
“SO what has she done this time?” He asked.
“I found an empty bottle in her room, it looks as though she has not left the house in days,” she said. “Mickey she took the divorce pretty bad,” she said.
“Shouldn’t Joyce do something about it? I mean it’s you coming to me!”
“She only could talk to you!” She said.
Scene: The Robinson’s
Martha was in her robe, there was a knock at the door. Martha walked over and opened it. “Mid-day lie in?” Said Hannah Badhman smirking.
“What do you want?” Hannah brushed her aside and walked into the house. Martha shut the door. “Well?” Hannah sniffed the smell.
“God have you been drinking?”
“So what if I have my business. Why do you want some?” She looked at her in disgust.
“I want to hold a club meeting!”
“I beg your pardon?”
“You heard I want a meeting with you and Mickey,” she said.
“Why? What has the club got to do with you?”
Hannah smiled, she handed Martha files. “Read them and turn up and brush your teeth, your breath is disgusting!” Hannah left the house, Martha slammed the door.
Scene: The Badhamn’s
“Here again Joyce, you scared or something?” Jocelyn let her in and shut the door. “I have come to see Graham about Stafano” she said. Jocelyn was concerned. “I am sorry I know we have had our differences and this is not something I want to fight about. I know what that man can be like!”
“You and me both” said Joyce. Joyce walked to the office and knocked on the door. “Come” said Graham. Joyce walked in shutting the door behind her. “Joyce, what do I owe this pleasure?”
“Forms” she said as she sat down.
“Forms?”
“Oh the forms, I need to go to the met and get them to sign declaration. Maybe we should go down together and do that?”
“That’s an idea,” she said. Graham walked over to the next room, quickly Joyce took out a swab from her handbag and she thoroughly took a sample with and dabbed it along the top of the glass.
She quickly popped into a plastic bag and put it into her handbag. Graham came back into the room putting on his coat. “Are you ready?”
“Yes, ready as I ever be” she said.
THE ROBINSON’S
“She did what!” Ken said angrily. “She bought Max out!” He paced up and down the room. “So Adele knows nothing about Max selling his part of the business to her!”
“Great that’s going to put a spanner to the works on their wedding hey” said Jasmine. “SO what do we do?”
“Tell Adele” said Martha angrily.
“So we could see a fist fight” said Ken. “Na I think we let it lie low for now, I am going to speak to my ex wife!”
Jasmine shrugged.
THE CAFÉ
Alex Cohen and Kelly Taylor walked into the café and they sat down at a table. “Ah thanks for inviting me out Alex, it’s really sat down at a table. “Ah thanks for inviting me out Alex, it’s really nice of you” she said.
“No problem, look I don’t know anyone around here and I think it be good to begin by having a coffee with someone new to” he smiled. Eddie walked over with a pen and paper. “couldn’t agree more” he said. “Eddie Badhman” he shook Alex’s and Kelly’s hand.
Margaret and Joyce walked in also and walked over to the till. “Not long to go now, hey Joyce” said Gladys.
“It be finally over” said Margaret.
I think you deserve a break from it all once it’s finished, you and Graham,” she said. “two coffees? They nodded.
“It’s more Jocelyn than her,” said Joyce. “All I got to do now is wait,” she said.
